Thanksgiving at Mom's House

Our Family Thanksgiving Picture.

Have you ever tried to take a picture of a family of 7. We took alot and this was the best one. And Kendrick is not looking at the camera, he never is.

My kids are so cute!! And Kendrick is looking!!! Quick snap the picture.

Wow, we have a big family. It was so much fun to have so many there for Thanksgiving. Of course,Mom spent most of the day in the kitchen. We had a wonderful meal. We always have more food than can be consumed. There were 13 in Mom's house the night before and it is not a huge house. We had a blast. We all slept everywhere. My family had the living room. Brandi's family had another. Mom and Emily shared and lucky Taylor slept in his own bed. The next day everyone else came with there family, to many to be counted. Mom made the garage into a room (A Football Room) so we all know where Allen and Taylor spent most of the day. They also played football with the kids. So it was an all round football day. They had a great time.

Oh my soul!!!!! Have you ever seen a more precious girl. I am sure you haven't even if you think you have.

It was so wonderful to see Mrs. Virginia (she spends Thanksgiving with my mom every year) It is so great to hear her praise the Lord and love life.

That's our Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a great one too.

Wichita Mountains

In October, we headed off to the Wichita Mountains for a school field trip and what a blast we had. The whole day was filled with excitment and running. We saw buffalo, climbed all over the mountain (I even went out there), went to the Holy Land replica. It was wonderful.

See our princess (Her daddy is right behind her holding her) Still it was a scary place for her, she clung to her daddy all day.

Our baby man even got brave and climbed up. Well he is 4 I guess he should be alittle brave.

Benjamin, Nathaniel and Christopher were fearless. I already know I won't be invited to go when they are teens. I am sure they will think mom will just worry and I will. If they are this brave at 5, 6, 8 I fear 15,16,18.

The boys had a blast climbing all over that mountain, at the end of the day we new they were ready for bed but they asked to go up the mountain again. We didn't and five minutes on the road home they were all asleep. It was a really fun last trip before the new baby. At the end of the day Allen and I thanked God for such a smooth fun time with our wonderful family.

Where has all the time gone?

Uncle Casey's Off to the Army Party-- October 2006
(Christopher 8, Nathaniel 6, Benjamin 5, Kendrick 3)

We had a great time at the Wichita Mountians. The boys are growing up to fast for me. I was thinking when did I become the mom a 8 year old. That is nuts. I remember when mom would say time will fly when you get out of high school. A friend of mine said it just yesterday. How right they are. It just flies by. I look at Christopher and can remember when they first laid him on my stomach and said "It's a boy!!" I was floored, crying, Allen was crying, his mom was crying, my mom was crying and now he has a personality and opinions. He is huge, loving and strong.

Christopher 4 weeks old

I am truely amazed all the way down to Cheyenne. It seems like just yesterday I walked into that hospital and she was so small 4 lbs 6 oz. at 5 weeks old. I had never seen such a small person up close and then they started calling me mom and I was already in love. Of course my mom and I were crying again. I just couldn't believe how little she was and how alone. Well, now she is a little girl with not as many but some opinions about her day. All of them boggle my mind.

Cheyenne six weeks old

Cheyenne 15 months old

I mean really just sit on the couch with the TV off or on the front porch and stare at them (WOW!!) Did you do it? (WOW!! Right.) Nathaniel has 1000 questions and 2000 answers to everything. All he used to do was cry and nurse. Now he knows all about babies. Just the other day he looks at me and says I know about that baby in there (And points to my womb. ) I said you do inwardly thinking oh no not yet. (He's 6.) He said God has his hands in there, moving the baby in a circle. Only you can't see them because He's God. (I immediately pictured a potter's wheel) He says, "He's turning and turning his hands making arms, legs and eyes and a mouth." I was again floored. Where on earth did he get that? So then before I can speak he looks me square in the eyes and says, "And nobody told me that, I just thought about it and figured it out all by myself." And he said it in a way only Nathaniel could. That's his personality. He thinks about it and knows he's right. (Even if he isn't.)

Nathaniel 5 weeks old

Benjamin and Kendrick are also growing and changing. Kendrick didn't want Allen's help yesterday at the Air Show and talks all the time about all the things he will give us. He has a loving heart. He asks me what kind of motorcycle do you want. I always say how about I just ride yours with you. He is obsessed with not getting big. I teased him and said, "I am going to cry if you don't stop growing up, it breaks my heart." So a few days later we were in bed for naptime (our talk time) and he says I won't grow up because you said not to but can I stop wetting the bed. So I laughed and said yes but nothing else.

Kendrick 3 months old

Benjamin kisses and hugs all day and if you watch him tell a story he is the most animated child I have. His eyes change, his head moves, he wants you to see what he sees just like his daddy. He is also my prankster. And his laugh is contagious. If he is ever behind you and says, "Look a spider is on the wall don't look." I never do the first time anymore, but he can be so convincing that you will eventually look.

Benjamin 2 days old

All of them were once so little and helpless and now while they still need me alittle they have grown and changed and I don't really know when it happened. I am sure people are right when they say, "No, he's not a baby anymore." They are right, but I still can't see it sometimes. Like when my 8 year old wants to play across the street with his 8-9 year old friends. I mean really, am I the only one that gets how far away that is. And how on earth an I suppose to cross that street in the blink of an eye. Yes, I trained him to but what if he doesn't look both ways just once is all it takes. Yes, he knows right from wrong but what if he forgets the voice I put in his head. He is a very smart guy. The other day I let him ride to the corner with a friend and stop and talk with the other boys. They began to play in the street. My son knows better and I watched as he got dutifully on his bike and rode home and promptly said, "Mom, those boys are dangerous they are in the street without their mom." And I said, "Yes, I saw and I also saw what my wonderfully smart boy did, came right home." He smiled knowing he had done well. He is so great. Well I am retitling this Where has all the time gone because Wichita Mountians will have to wait. I got way off track.

Have a super week, sit down and just watch what they do!!!

All about us

Well I thought I would start this blog and see what happens. Although I can agree my life is not all that interesting to the average person but it is my life and a little nuts (all the time). We are homeschooling, very busy at church and not to mention we have 5 children under 8 and one on the way. Yes, we know how it happens. No, you can't touch my stomach. Yes, my hands sure are full. Yes, I sure am busy. Yes, we have a TV. Yes. Yes. Yes. We are very HAPPY. No, I don't know why you can't take two to the store and I take 5 almost daily. Yes, of course I stay home. Yes, I really want to. Yes, they drive me nuts. Especially the big one that calls me Wifey. Thank you, they are well behaved. Well if I think of the answers to anymore cliques (I am so tired of hearing), I'll add them later.

We are your average American family. My husband goes to work each day and I stay home with the little ones. School starts bright and early and we almost always get it done by 2 pm. Then we are off to the races to clean up the house and get out of here for errands and appointments. Sometime around really late we fall into bed and will start again tomorrow.

We just adopted our daughter she is wonderful. Yes I had the other ones. Yes they really are all ours. I realize she has blond hair and blue eyes but stop looking at me that way. She's his too!! (just adopted). Christopher is in 3rd, Nathaniel is in 1st, Benjamin is in K. Kendrick is not old enough but had to have a desk and is learning alot. Cheyenne is the baby and I really don't see her giving up that spot for our new addition. Well have to see how it goes in January. Well school must begin in 30 minutes and we have a banquet to prepare for. Let's see how this goes.

Worker's Banquet

You may recall I mentioned a banquet it my last blog. Well we had it. It was great. After alot of planning and worrying about this and that it was super and everyone had a great time. Our church is all fired up about the future. We (the boys and I) spent two full days decorating

and I have to say it was worth it. The boys did super they helped with the tables, held up decorations so I could get them in place. They were all big helpers. Even Cheyenne helped (by staying calm and content). We are also glad that is over (lots of work) The night of the banquet was a blast.

We had Skits,

Our skit "Port a Pulpit" went great.

Port a Pulpit is a ministry where we bring church to you.

My husband is very funny and the other guys weren't bad either.
Here is one man at home on a sunday trying to get some sleep.

Here Bro. Allen and another man have come "Port a Pulpit" to his home to have church.

You see the man unwillingly pray about his sins.

All in good fun of course we don't really have this ministry.
Music,
Testimonies,
Of course all good banquets have excellent food

Preaching

And lots of fellowship. All in all I have to say we had a great time and I can't wait till Missions Conference. Well off to the races again.
